NPSL: Nonprofits in Second Life Wiki

The Nonprofit Commons project (NPC), managed by TechSoup Global, is a virtual community of practice for nonprofits to explore the opportunities and benefits of Second Life. You do not have to have an office in the Nonprofit Commons to get involved! This site provides documentation and other helpful information not only for NP Commons tenants, but for any nonprofit that is interested in learning about Second Life.

[8:43] Cicero Kit: Since 1984, the Family Center has provided safe shelter, counseling services and legal advocacy to victims of domestic abuse.
[8:44] Cicero Kit: We are located in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and are proud to have served the community for 25 years. When the Center first opened, a lot of people didn’t want to believe that domestic violence was happening here.

[8:44] Cicero Kit: Our first shelter was at a vacated convent on the St. Lawrence parish. Then pastor of St. Lawrence church, Father Joe Bilgrien, had been instrumental in the founding of the organization. He rented the convent to the Center for $1 per year....
